2023

#BritishRacingKarts

In 2023, Chris Hawes and Ben Platten joined forces once again. Ben’s successful race team, BMR, has secured back-to-back LGM championships in the senior category of IAME in 2021 and 2022, as well as consecutive wins in the Kartmasters grand final.  The team also claimed the coveted O plate in both 2021 and 2022 and has consistently placed in the top 3 in the British championships over the past three years including numerous round wins and pole positions. This year, BRK has teamed up with BMR, bringing a wealth of experience to the official BRK factory team. Ben Platen will lead the team in the 2023 season.

2016/17

In the 2016-2017 seasons, BRK faced difficulties due to personal circumstances and a busy manufacturing schedule. Despite these challenges, the team was still able to win numerous races and secure contracts with Xenon Karts and Synergy Karts for chassis manufacturing. BRK remains committed to producing top-quality karts and achieving success on the track, solidifying their place as a leading name in motorsport. 

2015

British Champions

In 2015, BRK faced the challenge of retaining their championship title with a mostly new driver line-up due to age restrictions. However, extensive winter testing and the team’s hard work paid off, and they were able to successfully defend their title.

2014

British Champions

As the BRK factory team became established and the chassis was developed into a race-winning product, the team looked strong going into the 2014 season. They were crowned British champions and also had success at the Kartmasters and many other races. 

2013

Since its founding, BRK has made a strong presence on the track, recording numerous fastest laps, pole positions, and race wins in the cadet category. In 2013, the company brought on Ben Platten as a partner to help establish a strong track presence and assemble a team of talented drivers. Despite not winning the championship in their first year, the team continued to achieve success with numerous pole positions, fastest laps, and race wins.

2012

British Racing Karts (BRK) is a leading name in the world of motorsport. Founded in 2012 by Chris Hawes, a seasoned karting manufacturer with decades of experience in the industry, BRK has made a name for itself by producing top-quality racing karts in the 90s and promoting them through successful racing performances. this included the JKH brand, which was designed and manufactured by BRK. JKH’s success included winning the British Championship for 9 consecutive years making the chassis unbeatable. 

Chris’s background in the sport includes working with Paul Fletcher’s team in the 2000s, where he helped secure numerous national and European championships using the octane chassis. Building on this success, the team went on to win multiple British championships against some of the best manufacturers and drivers in the world. Despite facing challenges such as a lack of funding, Chris always dreamed of making BRK a global leader in the motorsport industry.
